One was a fat drug addict who died on a toilet and the other was a self mutilated drug addict pedophile. The fact that people admire either one of these losers is a sad statement about the values of people today. The strength of a people begins with the core values of the individual. This is a sure indication that the Roman Empire is soon to fall. I am a fan of BOTH!!! Yes it is true that both cultural icons visited quite a bit of self-inflicted damage upon themselves but they did so during their later years. They continue to be admired throughout the world not because of what they became in their later years but because of how they looked and how they performed in their heyday (Elvis in the '50s and '60s and the Gloved One in the '70s and '80s) when they both were ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT and SPECTACULARLY UNFORGETTABLE!!! That is the image of both incredibly gifted and talented individuals that people around the world are simply not willing to forget!!!
