I don't see how Bush can be considered a good president. If he is to be believed, he went into Iraq because of WMD and terrorist links. No WMD were found and they're not even looking anymore. There were no terrorist links either and the book is closed on that matter as well. There are real lives ending because of his administrations decisions and those decisions were wrong. He took a 175 billion dollar surplus and turned it into almost a 1/2 trillion dollar deficit to support his Iraq folly and that's contributed mightily to the dollar losing over 1/3 of its value (and counting). Afghanistan was originally a very good decision but then the ball was dropped by withdrawing so many troops. Afghanis mockingly refer to Karzai as the mayor of Kabul, not the president. Bush loves to cite Afghanistan as a tremendous success story but it would be doing a lot better if the job was finished before other wars were started.

One of my favorite ridiculous arguments used by the selfish right wing. If Bush were really interested in saving lives, helping the helpless, why not spend all of America's money where it could be used much better: Sudan, Darfur, et al. At least Clinton admitted one of his biggest mistakes was not getting involed in Rwanda (thanks to Blackhawk Down fans); Bush only gets involved in Africa when rock stars and corporations show him where it is on the world map.

That is true. President Bush's tax cuts have revived the economy and now it is more robust than ever before in history. On top of that, he has protected the American people from another terror attack while spreading democracy, freedom, and liberty across the entire world. By far the greatest presidentin the last 100 years, perhaps the greatest in history. The rabid anti-bush sentiment is caused by blind partisonship. Anyone who truely understands the issues would agree Bush is a great president.

All of the above is true, however the president falls short on the issue of illegal immigration. For some political reason, he is soft on illegal immigration. They do not need new laws, there are already laws on the books. As great as Bush has been, he could very easily wipe out his entire legacy by dropping the ball on just one issue.

The US dollar has lost half it's value under Bush because Budh has had to transfer so much of the national debt to China. Similar to how post WWII America bought up Europe and Japan through the Marshall plan and other initiatives. The entire US deficit is the result of the Iraq folly. No WMD, no links to Al Qaeda, no reason to have gone there. He might have chosen Iran but they were too strong and now they have minimal nuclear capability and are now on the cusp of passing a law that forces all people to wear apparel that indicates their religion. That's where there is a plausable threat. You could argue that Iran may be a threat which is another country that America couldn't invade. Your man Rummy announced that America would fight as many fronts as it would take to defeat our enemies but we've even largely left Afghanistan to our NATO allies because we're over stretched in Iraq. A country that was soundly thrashed in 1991 and has remained a zero threat to anybody but itself. Now we can't leave it because we need to clean up the mess we made.

Actually, Bush is probably the greatest president of all time. He will not be recognized by his contemporaries because of all the media bias and the unrelenting propaganda of the liberal left. Well then, how is it that Pakistan can give amnisty to the Taliban and still remain one of America's closest Arab allies? How is it that Rumsfeld three years ago informed the world that the US will fight on as many fronts as it takes to combat terrorism and Bush called the UN a debating society yet now that N. Korea has nuclear capabilities, our only reaction is to call on the UN to negotiate a "diplomatic solution." How is it that Iran which is a limited democracy and the Hamas which is a freely elected government by and for the Palestinian people are considered dangerous rogues and international pariahs by us but that Pakistan which is led by a dictator who took over the reigns of power through a military coup and Saudi Arabia which is further removed from our social and political mores than any other nation on earth remain our closest Arab allies despite Bushes claims that his agenda is to spread democracy?

You people who think that anybody who is opposed to Bushes warring policies are squemish about using our military. You are not correct. I have been vehemently opposed to our invasion of Iraq because we did so before finishing the job in Afghanistan. I vociferously argued 4 years ago that there was no need to invade Iraq. I felt then as I do now that if we expanded our military offensive anywhere against terrorism we should have developed limited military cooperation primarily with the Chinese to stop N. Korea because they were a threat. We should have opened aggressive diplomatic channels with Iran throughout 2002 and developed significant military posts along the Afghan-Iran border that we were very willing to use if they failed reform themselves as much as their citizens desired. And believe me, their CITIZENS desperately want to adopt more western values within their own country. They are not even one of the 22 member states of the Arab League of nations because they don't have a large enough Muslim population to qualify. I am fully in favour of imposing our military where and how it can be used effectively but sending it into Iraq was like punching out your little sister because the neighbourhood bully stole your lunch money. Bush is a coward. His administration made bin Laden into a superstar and when we couldn't hunt him down, Bush decided to take out Hussein because he knew he'd be easy to capture.

There isn't a single nation that has been liberated from anything with Bush. He left Afghanistan largely attended by our NATO allies and attempted a fraudulent war in Iraq. This was to topple a dictator who had better civil control than we have now. He opposes every single existing Muslim democracy and even seems to [pretend that they don't exist while supporting Saudi Arabia and Pakistan (which was formerly a democracy but Bush prefers to support the military dictator Musharaf). Pakistan has given amnesty to Khan who sold nuclear secrets abroad but Bush doesn't seem to care. I'll grant you, his stance concerning Mexico is generally tolerant and sensible but most of his administration is corrupt, old and white, with apologies to Gonzales who I suppose is considered Latino. Bush will not be celebrated he will be forgotten much like Ike.

Bob, right you are. I had an old friend tell me last night that Ron Paul is nuts! I asked "because he's a strict Constitutionalist"? Old friend didn't understand and said "we can't do what he want's to do" I pointed out some things and never got anywhere because my old friend is ignorant to much of American history. Fact is most Americans are and it shows when they vote. If you polled people and asked "Is the American form of Government the best the world has seen"? Most would say "YES" yet they would be unable to recognize that the problems we now have is the direct result of straying from the laws that bind down Government abuse. We the people have created a monster simply by allowing it to continue year after year like weeds in a garden... a total mess. The founding fathers not only warned us in every way possible, they gave us the best form of government, yet we the people have allowed lawless politicians freedom to screw us in almost every way possible. I have always voted and yet I have waited for 35 years for a man like Ron Paul to come along and tell the truth. Now that the truth is here the vast numbers of American people are to ignorant and brainwashed to save themselves from the miserable economic trip they are taking. Not to mention the hatred much of the world is bestowing upon us. Strangely in the minds of way to many Americans, the basic foundation that made America great is now considered RADICAL!
